I thought that followers of this blog might be interested in reading an article that appeared in the New Yorker a couple of days ago, featuring an interview with Oxford epigraphist Dr Roger Tomlin. In it he explains a bit about his efforts to understand Roman handwriting, as found in writing tablets from ancient Britain.
