Useful Links for Ancient Writing Systems

There are numerous websites that can be helpful when studying writing systems of the ancient world. Here are some that we have found useful:

Lexicity – Index for ancient language resources on the internet

Mnamon – Ancient writing systems in the Mediterranean

(Please note that this page is under construction as we add links to our list)

Contexts of and Relations between Early Writing Systems (CREWS) is a European Research Council funded project hosted at the Faculty of Classics, Cambridge.

We are working on new approaches to the history of writing, with a focus on writing systems of the ancient Aegean, Eastern Mediterranean and Levant (c.2000-600 BC). Read more on our 'About' page.
