This live event will introduce you to our free teaching materials on the theme of Writing in the Ancient World, with a lecture by CREWS project PI Dr Pippa Steele followed by a quiz and Q&A. Through this interactive session you will learn more about how to introduce exciting new topics into the classroom, and have an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback.
Before the event: There are no particular requirements and no prior knowledge is expected. However, you are welcome to check out the teaching materials and perhaps some of our other resources and videos, and you can also watch some training videos in our online teachers’ workshop if you have time.
At the event: Dr Philippa Steele will begin with a short lecture introducing you to the themes of our Writing in the Ancient World teaching materials, and then there will be a short quiz before we open the event up for an interactive Q&A session.
After the event: You will be issued with a certificate confirming your attendance, and there will a short feedback form to send back to us.
Who is the event for? If you teach age 8-11 (Key Stage 2 in the UK) and are interested in introducing new topics on Writing in the Ancient World into the classroom, this event is for you! School teachers and home educators are very welcome. Since the materials are adaptable for different age groups, those who teach older classes may also be interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
How to register: The event is managed through Eventbrite. Please click on ‘register’ below to sign up for the event. Nearer to the time of the event, you will be sent a Zoom link explaining how to join the online session.
